Cariñena, a popular wine region in Spain, that was constituted in 1933, was one of the first regions that became Denominación de Origen (Designation of Origin) in Spain. The most popular wine grape variety is grenache and the production of the area in 2013 was of 57 mill litres, 75% of them were exported.
